In the heart of Embassy Land
Completed in 1992, this refurbishment was undertaken on a building originally built by William Cubitt. Inspections by English Heritage early on outlined their requirements, which determined the brief for the very specialist MEP input that would be implemented by the design team.
The main feature is a glass dome above the central stair-case which introduces natural light during the day and artificial light at night via a ring of externally mounted floodlights which are focused through the dome glazing.
Yates Associates also undertook the refurbishment of The Ambassadors Residence.
